V&H 06.06.2026

We’re so happy to invite you to celebrate our wedding with us in Spain.

As many of our closest friends and family will be travelling, we’re planning a small series of gatherings around the wedding date so the celebrations can unfold gently over a few days.

This page shares an outline, with additional details to follow.
Please RSVP at the end of the page.

Weekend overview

Thursday 4 June

We’ll be hosting a relaxed pre-wedding evening to welcome everyone at SIP — drinks, good food, and an easy beginning to the celebrations. This is where our story first began.
7-late

Friday 5 June

A day to enjoy Alicante with either Virgilio or Hannah. Think una celebración a nuestra manera — time spent separately, with our favourite people, enjoying the things we individually love most. Further details will follow closer to the time.
10-4

Saturday 6 June

V&H Wedding celebration at El Botanico.
6-late

A note on location

The wedding venue, El Botanico de Sagra, is located around an hour from Alicante city by car, in a small village.

To make things easy (and so nobody has to think about driving, parking, or drinking), we’ll be organising transport from Alicante city to the venue and back again.

Where to stay

To make the most of the weekend, we suggest staying in Alicante city centre at the start, then moving closer to the wedding venue for the Saturday celebration.

If you haven’t visited Alicante before, the city centre is a great base for exploring, wandering, and soaking up a couple of days by the sea. The area around the venue, by contrast, offers a quieter, nature-led setting — perfect for slowing down and enjoying the wedding evening without a long journey home.

In general, we recommend two options:

• Staying in or near Alicante city centre and using the organised transport to and from the venue on Saturday, or

• Staying closer to the venue from Friday night onwards, so you can fully enjoy the celebration without worrying about a late journey back.

If you’re staying locally near the venue on the Saturday, we will share recommended taxi firms as we get closer to the date.

If you’d like any help choosing where to stay, or would appreciate suggestions for specific areas or accommodation, please let us know — we’re very happy to help share our recommendations and hope you enjoy your time here as much as we enjoy living here.

What to wear

Thursday evening at Sip

Smart-casual and relaxed — something you’d happily wear for a laid-back evening out in a city you love.

Wedding celebration

Elevated, thoughtful, and botanical. Dressed up, but still yourself.

Think flowing or tailored pieces in natural fabrics such as linen, silk, or cotton — dresses (long or short), suits, co-ords, jumpsuits, and relaxed tailoring.

Avoid anything restrictive or uncomfortable (or that you’ll regret dancing or enjoying eating in).

Weather note

Early June is usually warm (24-26°C), with cooler evenings (16-18°C). A light jacket, shawl, or layer for later in the night is recommended.

A note for parents

We’re really looking forward to celebrating with families and children.

Just a quick heads-up that our wedding venue, El Botánico, isn’t suitable for children to be unaccompanied, as there’s an uncovered pond and a swimming pool on-site. For this reason, little ones will need to be supervised at all times.

We’ll be arranging a babysitter for Maeve on the Saturday evening, and you may find that you’re able to relax and enjoy the evening more if your child is being looked after too. We’re very happy to share babysitter recommendations if that would be helpful.

Please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to talk about anything or have any questions about childcare.

RSVP

We would love for you to join us in celebrating our wedding.

Timings and practical details will follow, but as the date is approaching, we kindly ask that you RSVP promptly to help us plan.

For now, we wanted to share the date and how much it would mean to celebrate together with you.

Please mark 06.06.2026 in your diary!

With love,

V&H
